The photographs in this project were made over the course of one year. Following the seasonal changes along a creek in Ohio called Paint Creek. As a child, my father would take me to this creek to spend time together. I have no memories of this, just stories. The creek and the surrounding area are a beautiful place, full of rolling hills and stunning woods. It’s a place people come to relax, enjoy nature, and sadly, end their lives. Suicide prevention signs are scattered along the creek. The experience of spending significant time deep in nature, making photographs through all four seasons, provided me with a deep appreciation for the temporary nature of life.
